Rhondi was my favorite friend. All her life she had issues and problems but didn't develop into mental illness until we graduated or I should say wasn't diagnosed. She struggled for a long time to find her footing in life and when she announced to me she was getting married, I guess I was happy, but skeptical. She married Tom Gross, who also had a mental illness, and they had a child named Tommy. All her struggles culminated with 15 suicide attempts; she was diagnosed a paranoid schizophrenic and had to take medication. When she wouldn't take it, bad things happened. I loved her dearly and it was sad to see her take her life at 37. I pray all the time for people who struggle, worked in the field for a while, before I had to retreat. She was a beautiful young lady and I miss her still. Love ya Rhondi!

I also was very fond on Rhondi.  She was a nice person and was always good to be around at John Glenn.  I was so sorry to hear of her difficult life.  I hope her child is doing well and knows that we thought a lot of his mother.
